Contrary to what most people think, I never made more than $57,000 a year, and that was in my final year of employment. Most of my positions paid in the $30s. I paid off all my debt at my last position, except for my student loans, which I have been repaying at $498 a month for twenty years, with ten more to go. I will be 82 then.
